Making Patchwork Families Work

Icelanders have found the key to happiness: if you work hard, anything can be done.

The country recently topped the United Nations Development Programme’s Human Development Index ranking, making the country number one in wealth, health and education.

The twist? Iceland has the highest birth rate in Europe, divorce rate and percentage of women working outside the home.

While many feel that broken homes are not the ideal nuturing environment to raise children, the Icelanders take an optimistic approach to moving on with their lives and making the best of what they have.

No wonder Iceland has the happiest people on earth.
