Celebrity Hawaii Divorce News: Arrest Warrant Issued for Former “Young and the Restless” Star Brenda Dickinson!
A Hawaii judge issued an arrest warrant yesterday for former “Young and the Restless” soap opera star Brenda Dickinson after she refused to comply with a divorce court’s order. Dickinson had been told by Judge Darryl Choy during her divorce from attorney Jan Weinberg that the couple’s $1 million Los Angeles condo must be sold. Not happy with the decision, Dickinson claimed that her rights were trampled and assets stolen, according to a HawaiiChannel.com story. After being arrested last month for refusing this divorce court order and then released when saying that she would vacate the condo, Dickinson said on the national television show “Extra” that she was not moving or going anywhere.
After Dickinson failed to show up in a Hawaii divorce court yesterday, Choy issued another warrant for her arrest and gave Weinberg the power to sell the condo without his ex-wife’s permission. The arrest warrant for Dickinson can not be enforced in California, where she went after being released from jail. Weinberg’s divorce lawyer, Charles Kleintop, said that Dickinson has not complied with any orders since being released and leaving Hawaii. Dickinson’s divorce attorney Cheryl Brawley indicated in the story that she thinks her client has had a change of heart from her stance of not leaving the condo. The story also detailed that a screaming Dickinson had to be pulled out of the couple’s Hawaii home by law enforcement last year after it had been sold.
Dickinson played Jill Abbott on the “Young and the Restless” from 1973-1980 and then again from 1983-1987, according to imdb.com. She also appeared as herself in Martin Scorsese’s 1976 hit movie “Taxi Driver,” starring Robert De Niro, Cybill Shepherd, Jodie Foster, Harvey Keitel, Peter Boyle (the dad from “Everybody Loves Raymond) and Albert Brooks.
